Kamala Harris has officially accepted the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination after closing out the 2024 Democratic National Convention. With less than two months until the Election Day showdown against former President Donald Trump, Harris will have her head-to-head debate with Trump on Sept. 10.
The debate will be moderated by ABC News’ Linsey Davis and David Muir at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. Trump had proposed two additional debates earlier in the month, but Harris’ campaign spokesman, Michael Tyler, confirmed that the American people would have an opportunity to see the vice president and Trump on the debate stage in October.
Former President Trump also made headlines when he spoke at the Republican National Convention for 93 minutes, outlining his campaign platform and addressing recent political events.
In addition to the presidential debate, Trump running mate JD Vance and Harris running mate Tim Walz will face off in a VP debate on Oct. 1 hosted by CBS News. The Harris campaign stated that this VP debate will be the only one.
Ultimately, Election Day is Nov. 5, and the American public is getting ready for a series of debates leading up to the election that will offer insight into the candidates and their platforms.
