At a back-to-school fair organized by Maurice Eastwood and the group Allxity, students received supplies such as pencils, glue sticks, and backpacks, as well as shoes, clothes, hygiene products, and food. This annual event, now in its 10th year, aims to support students in the community and help them start the school year with confidence.
The giveaway also provided free haircuts for kids to ensure they look and feel good on their first day back. Parents expressed their gratitude for the support, with one attendee mentioning that the event felt like a block party, bringing the community together.
Eastwood emphasized that this effort is a community-wide one, with everything donated by community members and volunteers. He takes pride in giving back to the place where he grew up and seeing the joy and gratitude from the children who benefit from the event.
