Police: Driver Caught Speeding 118 MPH on I-84 in Vernon, NBC Connecticut Reports


A driver was arrested by state police on Monday night after being caught going 118 miles per hour on Interstate 84 in Vernon. The driver, a 29-year-old Mansfield man, was spotted speeding in a Toyota Camry in a 65-mile-per-hour zone by a state trooper around 9:40 p.m. The trooper used a laser to track the speed of the vehicle and subsequently stopped the driver.

The suspect has been charged with reckless driving and was later released on a $5,000 bond. The Toyota was towed from the scene and the driver is scheduled to be arraigned in Rockville Superior Court on Aug. 28.
