Bridgeport Man Found Guilty of Robbery Near Mohegan Sun

Edward Taylor, a 33-year-old man from Bridgeport, has been convicted of robbery and larceny in connection to a theft at a Mobile Gas Station near Mohegan Sun in 2022. On June 7, 2022, Taylor, along with another individual, allegedly approached a victim at the gas station, brandished a knife, and stole over $55,000 in cash from the victim while he was pumping gas. The victim sustained minor injuries while attempting to retrieve his money and was dragged several yards by the suspects’ vehicle.

The Mohegan Sun Casino Tribal Police responded to the incident after receiving a 911 call reporting the robbery. Through surveillance footage and DNA evidence found on the victim’s clothing, Taylor was identified as one of the suspects involved in the crime. He was subsequently charged with robbery and larceny.

Following a trial, Taylor was found guilty on Monday, and he is scheduled to be sentenced on October 22. The Office of the State’s Attorney’s Office confirmed the verdict in a statement released to the press. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of surveillance and forensic evidence in solving crimes and bringing perpetrators to justice. The victim in this incident, while sustaining minor injuries, was fortunate enough to recover the stolen funds.
