Stamford, Connecticut – Authorities are investigating a disturbing pattern of vandalism at the Academy of Information Technology and Engineering High School after “symbols of hate,” including antisemitic and white supremacist graffiti, were discovered on the campus for the second time in under three weeks.
The city officials, including Mayor Caroline Simmons and school officials, strongly condemned the incidents and emphasized that there is “no indication” that a member of the school community is responsible for the vandalism. This latest incident on August 11th follows a similar incident on July 26th, both of which are believed to be related.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time such incidents have occurred at AITE, with swastika graffiti being discovered on the campus twice in one week last October. Police are working to identify and hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions, while the city plans to enhance surveillance at the campus to prevent future incidents of this nature.
The authorities are urging the community to come together to denounce hate and promote unity in the face of such despicable acts. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Stamford Police Department.
