Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Five Bridgeport Residents in Florida Crash
Bridgeport, Conn. – The Bridgeport community is reeling from the loss of five of their own who tragically died in a crash in Florida. The victims were among nine individuals involved in a fatal accident in Belle Glade on Monday.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 2023 Ford Explorer carrying 10 people veered off the highway, struck a guardrail, and flipped into a nearby canal. The driver, Pamela Wiggins, along with four other passengers, were pronounced dead at the scene. The crash claimed the lives of Leiana Alyse Hall, Anyia Monique Lee Tucker, Michael Anthony Hall Jr., Imani Andre Ajani Hall, Kamdien Edwards, Yasire Smith, Ziaire Mack, and Naleia Tucker.
The group, who were in Florida for a birthday party, were on their way to the airport when the accident occurred. Family members are devastated by the sudden loss of their loved ones and are working to bring their bodies back to Connecticut.
The tragedy has hit the community hard, particularly Lloyd Hall, a custodian at the Board of Education, who lost his daughter and grandchildren in the crash. His church community is rallying around him during this difficult time.
In response to the incident, a fundraiser has been set up to assist with funeral expenses for the victims. The crash report indicated that none of the occupants were wearing seat belts or using child restraints in the overcrowded vehicle.
The farming community of Belle Glade, located south of Lake Okeechobee, is in mourning following this devastating accident that has left families and friends heartbroken.
