Team USA had a historic day at the Paris Olympics with track and field athletes dominating. Cole Hocker set a Men’s 1500-meter record while Gabby Thomas won gold in the 200-meter sprint. The basketball and soccer teams also advanced in the competition. Toni Vodisek and Riccardo Pianosi won the men’s kite races, Lauriane Nolot won Race 6 in women’s kiteboarding, and Cuban wrestler Mijain Lopez won his fifth consecutive gold. Team USA also saw success in mixed dinghy racing and women’s hammer throwing. Despite some setbacks, including a loss in women’s team round of 16, Team USA continues to rack up gold medals at the 2024 Paris Games.
