Two Fatal Shootings Occur in Capital City within Two-Hour Timespan


Hartford, Conn. – The Hartford Police are investigating two separate homicides that occurred within a two-hour span overnight. The victims have been identified as Terrance Brown, 41, and Antwan Googe, 36, both residents of Hartford. The incidents happened just a few miles apart, with the first taking place on Burton Street around 11:30 Saturday night and the second on Fishfry Street just after one Sunday morning.

Lieutenant Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions stated that both shootings are believed to have stemmed from arguments that turned deadly and do not appear to be related. The police are urging residents to come forward with any information they may have to assist in the investigations, emphasizing the importance of reporting disputes before they escalate.

Archbishop Dexter Burke of Walk In The Light Church of God expressed concern over the violence in Hartford, stating that the incidents impact the community and calling for policy changes. Burke highlighted the need for collaboration between residents, police, and city officials to address the underlying issues contributing to the violence.
