Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that anyone who harms the country will be held accountable during a state memorial ceremony in Jerusalem. He also stated that Israel is currently in a “multi-front war” with Iran and its proxies, highlighting the ongoing tensions in the region.
Tensions have escalated following months of conflict in Gaza, as well as the recent killings of a senior Hezbollah commander in Lebanon and Hamas’ top political leader in Iran. Iran and its allies have blamed Israel and threatened retaliation, leading to increased fears of a larger regional conflict.
In response to the rising tensions, some in Israel have prepared bomb shelters and recalled Iran’s previous military assault in April after a suspected Israeli strike. Western airlines have also cancelled or suspended flights to Israel and Lebanon, with the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs urging French nationals to leave Lebanon as soon as possible.
As the situation continues to develop in the Middle East, Netanyahu’s strong stance on defending Israel and holding those who harm the country accountable sends a clear message to Iran and its proxies. With the US and allies preparing to counter any potential threats, the region remains on edge as the possibility of further violence looms.
