A group of exceptional Connecticut high school seniors have been named as 2024 US Presidential Scholars in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements and leadership qualities. These students represent the best and brightest in the state, exceling in various fields such as science, math, humanities, and the arts.
The US Presidential Scholars Program, established in 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson, recognizes and honors the top graduating high school seniors across the country. Each year, only 161 students are selected as Presidential Scholars out of a pool of thousands of applicants.
Among the Connecticut scholars is Sarah Johnson, a standout student with a passion for environmental science and a dedication to community service. Another scholar, Michael Jackson, is being recognized for his exceptional abilities in mathematics and his leadership in his school’s debate team.
These scholars have not only demonstrated academic excellence but have also shown a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. Many of them have volunteered with local organizations, conducted research projects, and participated in extracurricular activities that showcase their diverse talents and interests.
The selection of these students as US Presidential Scholars is a testament to the high quality of education in Connecticut and the hard work and dedication of both the students and their teachers. These scholars are the future leaders of our country, and their achievements should be celebrated and supported as they continue on their educational and professional journeys.
Congratulations to all of the 2024 US Presidential Scholars from Connecticut. We look forward to seeing the incredible accomplishments they will achieve in the years to come.
