Unrest spreads as far-right protesters clash with police in UK cities – The Far Right News

United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has strongly condemned the far-right protesters who have sparked unrest across the country. The violence was ignited by misinformation surrounding the murder of three young girls in a stabbing attack, falsely linking the suspect, Axel Rudakubana, to being a Muslim immigrant. Despite clarification that Rudakubana was actually born in Wales, protests persist, escalating into violent clashes with police in cities like Liverpool, Manchester, Sunderland, and Belfast.

Businesses and individuals have suffered property damage, with one cafe owner in Belfast expressing shock and confusion over the attack on his establishment. Meanwhile, Leeds and Nottingham saw opposing groups of protesters in tense standoffs. Authorities in Hull reported arrests and injured officers. In London, police arrested individuals for inappropriate behavior, including a Nazi salute.

Mosques nationwide are advised to strengthen security measures in response to the unrest, and police have increased their presence. Speaking out against the violence, Prime Minister Starmer emphasized the need for a strong response from law enforcement.

The last time such widespread violence occurred in the UK was in 2011, following the police shooting of a Black man in London. The recent riots, particularly in Sunderland, where protesters engaged in violent acts near a mosque, led to injuries among police officers and numerous arrests. The chief police superintendent in Sunderland denounced the events as “unforgivable violence and disorder.”
