A tragic motorcycle accident in Voluntown has claimed the life of a Jewett City man. The incident occurred on Thursday evening when the 55-year-old rider, Donald Sunny, lost control of his motorcycle while navigating a left-hand curve on Shetucket Turnpike. The motorcycle struck a guardrail, causing Sunny to be thrown from his bike into a wooded area and down an embankment.
Despite the efforts of first responders, Sunny was pronounced dead at Backus Hospital. The accident involved no other vehicles, and State Police are urging any witnesses to come forward.
The loss of Donald Sunny has left the community in mourning, with friends and family expressing their sorrow and offering their condolences.
