Chamber Ambassadors from the Atlantic Area visit the Cass County Fair for a Lifestyle Experience

The Atlantic Chamber Ambassadors visited the Cass County Fair in Atlantic to learn more about the upcoming events and the community’s support. Liz Denney, Fair Food Stand Superintendent and Fair board member, spoke about her year-long commitment to the fair, particularly her role in running the 4-H Food stand for the past 27 years. Denney, along with two assistant superintendents, coordinates volunteers and serves lunch specials such as chicken & noodles, ham balls, windsor chops, and roast beef dinner.

Denney emphasized the importance of community support to keep the Cass County Fair free of charge, making it the only 100% free county fair in Iowa. Contributions and support help to maintain nightly entertainment and improvements to the fairgrounds. New additions this year include electronic screen TVs in the Food Stand, featuring sponsor information and entertainment, as well as new menu items like macaroni and cheese and brisket macaroni and cheese.

For more information about the Cass County Fair, individuals can visit their Facebook page, Cass County Fair – Iowa, or contact the Cass County Extension Office. The fairgrounds are located at 805 W 10th Street in Atlantic. The Fair Board and community members are proud of the support received and look forward to hosting a successful and enjoyable event for all attendees.
